Dysport

Dysport is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of your whole face.  The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas.  Dysport blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscles, ultimately resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contractions of the muscles that cause frown lines.  You should not be treated with Dysport more frequently than every 90 days.

Treatment with Dysport generally takes about 10 to 20 minutes.  Upon completion of the procedure, patients generally return to their normal activities.  Patients should avoid engaging in heavy physical exercise, applying cosmetics, or laying down flat for a minimum of four hours after the injections.  It is also advisable to avoid rubbing or massaging the injected area for at least 24 hours.

The most common side effects are nose and throat irritation, headache, injection site pain, injection site skin reaction, upper respiratory tract infection, eyelid swelling, eyelid drooping, sinus inflammation, and nausea.  For full safety information, please visit http://www.dysportusa.com/#isc.
